# Mining Nerbus (NRB)
Nerbus uses **VerusHash 2.2**. For CPU mining, use a **PBaaS-compatible CPU build of ccminer 3.8.3**. In ccminer the algorithm option is `-a verus`.
## Pool settings
| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Pool website | https://pool.nerbus.com |
| Stratum endpoint | `stratum+tcp://pool.nerbus.com:39480` |
| Username | `YOUR_NRB_ADDRESS.worker1` |
| Password | `x` |
| Algorithm | `verus` (VerusHash 2.2) |
| Pool fee | 0% |
| Payment method | PROP |
| Minimum payout | 1 NRB |
These pool settings were checked on October 17, 2026. Current status and payout settings are shown on the pool website.
## 1. Get your receiving address
Download [Nerbus Wallet for Windows or Linux](https://git.nerbus.com/nerbus/nerbus-wallet/releases). Extract the entire package, open the wallet, select **Receive**, and click **New receiving address**. Copy your own transparent NRB address and save a wallet backup.
Replace `YOUR_NRB_ADDRESS` in every example below with that address. The `.worker1` suffix identifies your mining machine; you can use `.desktop`, `.server`, or another short name. The miner only needs your public receiving address. The `x` password is a pool placeholder, not your wallet password or private key.
The standalone Qt wallet does not run a miner. Pool mining does not require a local Nerbus daemon, a blockchain download, or keeping the wallet application open.
## 2. Windows x64
Use [monkins1010 ccminer CPU release v3.8.3a](https://github.com/monkins1010/ccminer/releases/tag/v3.8.3a). Download **ccminer_CPU_3.8.3.zip** from its Assets section. The upstream archive password is **12345678**. Extract the full archive and locate `ccminer.exe`.
Create `mine-nrb.bat` beside `ccminer.exe`:
```bat
@echo off
cd /d "%~dp0"
ccminer.exe -a verus -o stratum+tcp://pool.nerbus.com:39480 -u YOUR_NRB_ADDRESS.worker1 -p x -t 4
pause
```
Edit the address, save the file, and double-click it. `-t 4` uses four CPU threads. Start with a modest thread count and adjust it to your CPU and cooling. Stop mining with **Ctrl+C**.
## 3. Linux x86_64
The [Oink70 ccminer-verus v3.8.3a-CPU release](https://github.com/Oink70/ccminer-verus/releases/tag/v3.8.3a-CPU) provides the Linux binary used to mine Nerbus mainnet blocks 1–10. Choose **ccminer-v3.8.3a-oink_Ubuntu_18.04** for an x86_64 CPU.
On Debian/Ubuntu, install its runtime libraries and download the pinned binary:
```sh
sudo apt update
sudo apt install -y ca-certificates curl libcurl4 libjansson4 libgomp1 libomp5
mkdir -p "$HOME/nerbus-miner"
cd "$HOME/nerbus-miner"
curl -fL -o ccminer 'https://github.com/Oink70/ccminer-verus/releases/download/v3.8.3a-CPU/ccminer-v3.8.3a-oink_Ubuntu_18.04'
echo 'bf7d1a01e88322991a824676601b46be7625b50a9d8ee8de085cc86ba76f7bc2 ccminer' | sha256sum -c -
chmod +x ccminer
./ccminer -a verus -o stratum+tcp://pool.nerbus.com:39480 -u YOUR_NRB_ADDRESS.worker1 -p x -t 4
```
The SHA-256 value is published by the binary maintainer and matches the binary used on the Nerbus server. Stop if the checksum does not match. Distribution package names can differ; `ldd ./ccminer` shows any missing runtime library.
For a source build, follow the [upstream CPU build instructions](https://github.com/monkins1010/ccminer/releases/tag/v3.8.3a), selecting the **Verus2.2** branch for x86_64 or **ARM** for supported ARM64 hardware. The Windows CPU release and Linux x86_64 binary above are different platform builds.
## 4. Check your miner
The console should show a connection to the pool, authorization, work notifications, a nonzero hash rate, and eventually `accepted` shares. Pool statistics take time to reflect new shares. A share is a contribution to a mining round; it is not an immediate wallet payment.
The pool distributes rewards after a found block matures and your payable balance reaches the payout threshold. The payment worker checks approximately every 120 seconds. Pending rewards and accepted shares are not yet confirmed wallet transactions. Look up your receiving address or payout transaction in the [Nerbus explorer](https://explorer.nerbus.com).
Direct coinbase rewards require maturity before spending. Nerbus Wallet conservatively waits for **150 confirmations** on coinbase outputs. Normal pool payouts are separate transactions. Ten initial blocks are enough to check block indexing and incoming rewards, but not to spend those coinbase rewards.
## Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
| --- | --- |
| Authorization fails | Use your NRB transparent address, with no spaces, followed by an optional worker suffix. |
| Connection fails | Use `stratum+tcp://pool.nerbus.com:39480`; the HTTPS website, P2P port 39440, and RPC port 39441 are not mining endpoints. |
| Invalid shares | Confirm VerusHash 2.2/PBaaS support and `-a verus`. |
| Missing library on Linux | Check `ldd ./ccminer` and install the named runtime package. |
| Illegal instruction | Use a build compatible with your CPU architecture and supported instructions. |
| Accepted shares but no wallet payment | Check the pool's blocks, reward maturity, payable balance, and minimum payout. |
Download miners from the linked maintainers' release pages. Miner binaries are separate from Nerbus Core and Nerbus Wallet releases.

# Nerbus (NRB)
Nerbus is an independent network fork of VerusCoin v1.2.18, based on upstream
commit `d4cbace35e570b4ce0b2413ab018cafd779f13a9`. This repository contains the
daemon, command-line client, transaction utility, consensus rules, and build dependencies.
## Network parameters
| Parameter | Mainnet value |
|---|---|
| Ticker | NRB |
| Maximum cumulative block rewards | 209,000,000 NRB |
| Decimal places | 8 |
| Target block interval | 30 seconds |
| Initial block reward | 100 NRB |
| Reward halving interval | 1,045,000 blocks |
| Target PoW / PoS ratio | 50% / 50% |
| Premine / genesis reward | 0 NRB |
| P2P port | 39440 |
| RPC port | 39441, loopback only |
| Mainnet genesis | `0177ee4010f9617feb8e2956aa4dfb7a8df18b6e4f6cc3359bdb8cfef9d10bfd` |
The initial reward belongs to the producer of each block. The 50/50 figure is
the target mix of block types, not a split of an individual reward. Rewards
eventually become zero; the final subsidized block is 35,530,000.
## Build
See [BUILD-NERBUS.md](BUILD-NERBUS.md). The outputs are `nerbusd`, `nerbus`, and
`nerbus-tx` (with `.exe` on Windows). Core currently reports version 0.1.0-dev.
Prepared Windows and Linux binaries are retained privately; releases have not
been published. Mainnet node launch is a separate operator action.
## Configuration
Use `contrib/nerbus/NRB-server.conf.example` as a starting point. Choose unique
RPC credentials in your private configuration. RPC must remain on loopback.
Download cryptographic parameter files using `zcutil/fetch-params.sh` before
starting the full node. The compiled peers are `188.137.230.12:39440` and
`188.137.230.127:39440`. All network definitions are in `nerbus-network.json`.
